Deepki’s ESG Index: addition of final energy & CO2 values. 

Following its original publication in November, Deepki’s ESG Index now provides insights into both energy consumption and carbon emissions for the European real estate market. To help you identify which assets contribute to a reduction in climate change according to the EU Taxonomy, the index now provides annual values for the average, the top performing 15% and 30% of building stock in terms of final energy (kWhFE/m2) and carbon emissions (kgCO2eq/m2).

Joining Théo Caillierez Castaing, Senior ESG Consultant, Deepki, to stress the importance of putting in place a common KPI for the real estate industry is Fabrizio Varriale, Place and Space Analyst at RICS, Deepki’s ESG Index partner.

Fabrizio Varriale RICS

Fabrizio Varriale
Place and Space Analyst, RICS

Fabrizio is an architect with research experience in low-carbon materials and design. He earned a PhD at the Welsh School of Architecture while teaching environmental design masters. Within his position at RICS  he produces thought leadership outputs on building sustainability and contributes to shaping RICS's position on related policy matters. He also coordinates the development of the Built Environment Carbon Database. He was a member of the Technical Expert Group that produced the draft EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance, and he’s currently a member of the Energy Efficient Mortgage Label Committee.
